Our Nourished Bodies

Nashville nutrition specialist for eating disorders, intuitive eating, and almond mom recovery

If health was as simple as “eat this, not that,” I’d be out of a job - but you and I both know it’s not that straightforward.

Your health is so much more than what you eat, which is why I’d never stop at just talking about food. When we work together for nutrition counseling, we’ll talk about food, sleep, hydration, stress, movement and how you’re really doing - because cutting it short at food facts would be doing you a disservice.

Hi, I’m Eliza Cheng - eating disorder dietitian, cat mom, and already your new #1 cheerleader.

After moving to the United States from Malaysia at the age of 17, becoming a dietitian through Loma Linda University in California, and moving across the country (twice!) - I'm now happily rooted in my role providing nutrition therapy and eating disorder treatment in Nashville (or should I say, from Nashville and to residents of most states through virtual sessions).

As a firm believer in whole-person care, I always take the time to truly get to know you, your story, and your life as we work together, so you can define and experience a calmer relationship with food and your body.

Nashville nutrition specialist

As a dietitian who’s struggled with my own relationship with food and body, I’m here to provide empathy and support from the perspective of someone who deeply knows how hard it is - and how worth it recovery is.

Whether you’ve been diagnosed with an eating disorder (or think you should have been), want to give up dieting for good, or just want a trusted source of nutrition advice that *isn’t* problematic AF - I’d be honored to be a source of support for you.

Even when you logically know that your relationship with food is holding you back from a truly fulfilling life.

When food rules have become your lifeline, recovery can feel like a threat –

You'll probably hear me talk a lot about...

Finding your own path in recovery 🗺️

As a dietitian with experience at partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment (in addition to private practice), I know that no one’s process and experience looks the same. In fact, I’m counting on it - which is why I’ll always start by asking you questions about your experience instead of jumping to conclusions.

Redefining “health” and why it matters to you 🍎

I could talk about the factors that affect your physical health all day, but none of them matter if you don’t feel connected to them. I’m here to provide judgment-free nutrition guidance in accordance with what you value for your health (and even to help you figure out what those values are).

How you’re sleeping, moving, and feeling 💤

Because all of the above ☝️ impact how you’re feeling about food (and yourself!), too. Your health is way more complicated than what you eat - and I’ll help you untangle the things you want to do from the things you feel like you should do, so you can find a clearer approach that feels like you.

I want to acknowledge the privileges I hold as an Asian, cisgender, thin, and able-bodied practitioner. My goals as a dietitian are to continue educating myself, working on reducing harm in my practice, and understanding important issues that those I work with face, such as implicit/explicit bias, discrimination, racism, fatphobia, ableism, and healthism.

On My Lap

My cats, Milo and Luna - literally anytime I sit down.

On My Plate

Preferably Hainanese chicken rice, but I’d also accept a PB&J or a mac and cheese as a substitute.

In My AirPods

Speak Now and Lover - and I’ll never be sorry about it.

On The Table

Besides the water glasses my cats will knock off? Settlers of Catan forever.

By My Side

My husband, who also works in mental health - this is a very feelings-friendly household.

If you’ve made it this far, I’m going to guess I passed the vibe check.

Which means the next step in finding food freedom with support by your side is one click away:
